Dear Colleagues,

The Associate Director's position is advertised at the Mid-South Regional Resource Center (MSRRC). MSRRC is one of six centers supported by the U.S. Office of Special Education Programs (OSEP) to provide technical assistance to state special education and early intervention programs providing services under the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA).

MSRRC is located at the
University Center for Excellence at the University of Kentucky in Lexington, KY. It has operated the Regional Resource Center since 1977 and just received notice of funding until May of 2014.

Position Responsibilities
Technical Assistance (TA) Provision: Build relationships with states, serving as liaison with one or more states. Assess needs, negotiate TA services, develop plans and deliver TA to achieve systemic solutions to challenges in providing educational services and supports to children with disabilities and their families. Document and evaluate effectiveness of TA services.

Program Coordination and Network Building: Support MSRRC planning with the Federal office of OSEP. Support and plan leadership and networking activities for State Directors of Special Education and State Part C Coordinators of Early Intervention services. Plan and expand internal and external collaborations (e.g., RRC, HDI, UK, RRC Program, other TA&D projects, Comprehensive and Equity Assistance Centers and OSEP) to maximize joint effects. Coordinate documentation of collaboration activities and effects.

Content Resource: Support and lead MSRRC information services and Field Services staff by serving as a content resource in multiple areas of expertise. Produce papers, presentations, and resource materials in areas of expertise and in collaboration with the RRC Program. Monitor one or more topical areas on the MSRRC web site, advise about content links and coordinate our overall web presence.
Required: Master's Degree + 7 years relevant experience.

Preferred: Ph.D., or Ed.D., 7 years in the field of special education plus 5 or more years providing technical assistance or consultation on special education topics.

Significant travel is required.

Salary Range: $49, 514 -- $81,698
