NATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL CENTER’S 2008 SUMMER INSTITUTE

To register, please visit http://www.ideadata.org, scroll to the bottom of the page, and click on the link for the 2008 Overlapping Part B and Part C Data Meetings at the bottom of the page. Then click on the link for the registration form, enter the Use Name: DACOSEP and the Password: Register2008. You must register for this meeting no later than Friday, June, 6, 2008. Within 5 business days of submitting your registration, you will receive logistical information. If you have trouble registering, please email for assistance.
DAC will pay the registration fee, airfare, lodging, expenses, and per diem for one Part B and one Part C representative from each State and outlying area to attend their respective B or C meeting. Note: Additional people are welcome to attend if space is available; however, those individuals must register and pay their own registration fee ($250 per person, per meeting) and travel expenses.

These annual conferences are designed for administrators, educators, advocates, and families. They  will cover major legal issues in special education including IDEA Reauthorization 2004, previous decisions by the courts, and trends in special education.

Conference Mission and Purpose
The Mission of the National Summit on Deaf Education is to promote and advance knowledge and leadership through professional and parent stakeholder partnerships that result in collaborative State education systems and improved outcomes for children and youth who are deaf or hard of hearing.
The National Summit on Deaf Education joins leaders in education and administration with parents of children who are deaf or hard of hearing for the purpose of designing educational systems and services that will successfully launch every DHH student from birth to young adulthood to his/her highest academic and social potential.
State leadership teams will learn strategies about systems change as they are applied to accountability in deaf education. State leadership teams will develop action plans to apply the information gained in their respective States.    
Registration:  For teams that register prior to April 15, the registration cost is $225 per person, except for parent leaders who as team members will have their registration fee waived. For teams that register after April 15, the registration fee is $250 per person.
