The Data Managers Workgroup provides an opportunity for state data managers to share hot topics, concerns, problems, and solutions that are significant and relevant to improving data quality and reporting within their states. The workgroup meetings and teleconferences also provide opportunities for federal updates on State Performance Plans, Annual Performance Reports, and other data-related topics.

This workgroup creates an opportunity for cross-stakeholder sharing of information and products across states and a structure for providing feedback to NERRC and to the Office of Special Education Programs (OSEP) regarding data collection and management issues. Face-to-face regional meetings are held in conjunction with the annual OSEP/Westat Part B/Part C Data Managers Meeting. Periodic teleconferences are scheduled on topics of interest to the participants.

Part B SPP/APR Indicator Analysis Reporting Tools

Part B SPP/APR Indicator Analysis August 1, 2007

APR/SPP Summary Review for Part C Indicators

Excel Spreadsheet

These two resources are from Bruce Bull, NERRC's Data Consultant. Bruce created the  Excel tables (two worksheets on one spreadsheet) for analysis and calculation of Indicator B-3 Data. He based them on the examples given in the Part B SPP/APR Indicator Analyses document of August 1, 2007. He took the tables that were provided as an “example of well-presented performance and proficiency data,” (pages 53 and 57) pulled them into Excel, and put in the calculations to self-populate. The document didn't say which state initially created these—but kudos to the anonymous state! Some of our Northeast states might find these useful and hopefully relatively easy to report assessment data.
