Regional IDEA Forum for Staff Writing State Regulations

The National Association of State Directors of Special Education and Mountian Plains Regional Resource Center are hosting this forum for state staff responsible for rewriting state regulations to ensure compliance with IDEA 2004 regulations. Nancy Reder of NASDSE will present.

Nebraska Institute on Special Education Law and Practice

The Nebraska Department of Education's Special Populations Office and the Mountain Plains Regional Resource Center are teaming up to provide a two-day conference designed for administrators, educators, advocates, and families. The Institute on Special Education Law and Practice will cover major legal issues in special education including IDEA Reauthorization 2004, previous decisions by the courts, and trends in special education.
Conference dates are November 9 and 10, 2006, at The Embassy Suites Omaha—Downtown/Old Market located in downtown Omaha at 555 South 10th Street, Omaha, Nebraska 68102.

NASDSE Conference

NASDSE 69th Annual Conference
November 11-14, 2006 in historic Colonial Williamsburg, Virginia

The conference format will include presentations by dynamic presenters, including students and their teachers who have achieved great results. It will also include district and State leaders who are making a difference and national leaders who are paving the way for a focus on results. There will be stimulating panel discussions, followed by facilitated interactive sessions designed to engage our own learning and sharing.

Regional Implementation Meetings

OSEP will be sponsoring training opportunities for State Special Education—Part B programs to begin implementation of the IDEA regulations. The meeting for Regions 5 and 6 will be held February 12-13, 2007, in Los Angeles, CA
