Early Childhood Part C/619 Workgroup

Chair: Ron Dughman

Purpose

State Coordinators of Part C and Part B-619 programs have identified a need to have opportunities to collaborate, share ideas and resources, and network on critical issues in early childhood special education and early intervention. Activities of the work group expand the technical assistance to Part C and Part B coordinators and programs and include

• Quarterly telephone conferences for all participants.
• Meetings with early childhood representatives at national meetings.
• Annual meeting with coordinators in the Mountain Plains region to enhance collaboration and provide technical assistance in issues concern.
• Identification of early childhood emerging issues to be supported through a variety of methods.
• Training or support to address early childhood concerns across all States in a consistent format
  

Identified Goals

1. Achieve regional networking capabilities between participants and increase opportunities for collaboration on early intervention and preschool special education topics
   
2. Schedule opportunities through teleconferences and periodic meetings to share resources and strategies that support early childhood service delivery systems.
