Conference ID: 27963950
Chairperson: Ruth Ryder
Presenters: Mike Bullis, Director and Jane Falls, Coordinator, National Post-School Outcome Center
Topic: The Devil is in the Details: Survey Data Collection, Response Rate, and Representativeness
Though we come from the post-school outcome perspective, the concepts to be discussed are relevant to Part C Indicators 3 & 4 and Part B 7, 8, & 14 in which sampling and “representativeness” are critical issues.
Big Ideas:
Who is in the target group? (census or representative sample)
Why rigorous data collection strategies are so important?
Who is in the respondent group?
How do we know if respondents are representative of the target group?
What if respondents are not representative of the target group?
The Part C Eligibility Criteria Rankings (Applicable to the December 1, 2006 Child Count) are to be used for the February 1, 2008 APR Submission for Part C Indicators 5A and 6A. [Posted 01/23/08]
